In the name of the ladies!

The female gender is being very misused in these days in Albania. The politicians are somehow in shadow minimizing their confrontation in this battlefield that might probably characterize the end of this year. From the majority as well as from the opposition, this time there were the male-politicians those who “set the fire” although  Helen was known as the cause of one of the most famous battles of the ancient history causing the destruction of Troy, one of the brightest civilizations of the time.
I’m sorry to say it but this time were the ladies who wanted to be used by their colleagues becoming not only in vulgar (sorry for the term) spokesmen but also defenders of lost or even inexistent causes. The women in Albania, supported by the international partners, have set up counseling lines for the violated women. For many reasons, they remain anonymous. Lately, for some ladies who, according to the majority, have faced violence by the leader of the opposition, are being named their profession and generalities, bringing them out as possible victims of violence. All this is happening because the same politician ladies who are forgetting even their female characteristic, the compassion, for the sake of their positions or the blind obedience to their male chiefs.
Everyone in Albania has perceived that another phase of the political confrontation as already begun, in the name of which “the goal justifies the means”. If some male-politicians were not interested enough for the ladies in politics, an they “don’t even care” about sacrificing some VIP ladies outside politics, it’s unacceptable for the politician ladies, of both sides, to do the same mistake. Since morning till evening, especially from the astonishing declarations of the Prime Minister, Berisha, against the private life of the socialist leader, Rama, there come out dozens of ladies from the right-wing asking their colleagues to give a moral account, and from the left-wing defending their leader from the accusation coming from the other side. Right after a few minutes, although they have some spies in the press-conferences of the right-wing ladies, the left-wing ladies answer, not only defending their leader, but being also ready to send petitions even to Strasbourg for not respecting the privacy of the leader. In all this mess, for none of them is difficult to mention concrete cases, names of ladies, victims of violence, or their professions, maybe forgetting for a moment that they are women too, mistreating the stories closed, with or without pain, of those who are being used in the Albanian politics.
As nothing was spared, either the names or the professions of the ladies defended by the politician ladies pointing them out as victims, we think it’s time to see who is directly or indirectly harmed by this game that none knows the end. There’s an old lady, who might bear a great sin on her shoulders: she the mother of a man, now at the head of the Albanian opposition. She has to bear on her old shoulders, not only because of the age, but also because of the openly confessed problems, the misuse of her name and story. She is Aneta Rama, who although facing all the Albanian microphones, preferred to remain silent, to avoid being part of the infamous game, at least morally, of our politics. There’s another lady, who is very famous because considered as one of the most clamorous promises of the Albanian cinema. She too did a great mistake: fell in love and then married the future leader of the Albanian opposition of these last four years. The numerous problems she had in her life, either personal or those in her family with Edi Rama, are coming back as a bad nightmare. She is Matilda Makoçi, the lady so “loved” by many through the screen. As any other lady, even as those who are speaking through the Parliament or political seats, Makoçi was disappointed in her life, for her or the common fault, yet she chose the right of remaining in “shadow” for her life, never asking to be misused, even by some ladies inspired by politics.
Then, there’s another jovial lady of our screens, even of that screen that “de facto” is controlled by the actual majority since 2005, who is a victim of this phase of the Albanian politics. Because of her own nature, she tried to say to everyone “You’re in my heart”, yet she too couldn’t escape the great sin: she lived for some time with the Mayor of Tirana, actually leader of the opposition. Her name is Rudina Magjistari and didn’t hesitate to come out publicly, as in every other European country, to tell about her relationship with a person, although an attacked VIP of the political scene.
In the scheme of this phase, there are probably other names, directly or indirectly mentioned, but I’m stopping at those whom every Albanian has comprehended who are. I’m not involving here a young man, who is the bearer of the sin as the son of the leader of opposition, or a defunct who’se fault was to be the father of the leader of opposition. Fortunately, life showed love to the second, as he didn’t live this moment to hear all that might had brought him at least a heart-attack. Life was more harsh to the young, who although used with the attacks against his father and his grandfather, didn’t think some things might link to him and might be spoken even from the Albanian Parliament, a hated place even to him now.
By all this attack of the politics toward people outside of it, have been hurt or even destroyed, none the less but 100 Albanian families, directly or indirectly related to the abovementioned names. Many of them might be probably closed in their houses, other might have gone abroad and others might probably be thinking of a more sad alternative. While in the Parliament, in the seats of the parties the only interest is the credits they got or lost by their declarations.
I’m convinced that these words could be said much better and with more compassion by a lady, even from the politics, to whom God could brighten her mind for a moment. Yet, in all these days, none of them cared about those insulted women, forgetting that many of them had the same destiny, or even worse than those mentioned through microphones.
I don’t think there’s a normal person in Albania or beyond to justify violence in general, and particularly against women. I don’t believe that there are ladies in Albania or beyond who are happy about the bad destiny of other ladies, or even to use them as “targets” to serve politics, depriving them even from the only possible defense as it is the privacy of life and personal data. I don’t believe there are ladies anywhere but in Albania, who are so used by politics, “sacrificing” other ladies outside political institutions. The misuse is so public, shameful and repugnant that it could be eliminated by answering a simple question: “Did Edi Rama commit these violations in these last ten days?” Everyone in Albania knows now that there are years that Edi Rama has no public or official partner, otherwise the gossip-magazines wouldn’t spare him. There are years that Edi Rama doesn’t live with his mother and even more years that he is separated from his wife. The ladies of politics, either left or right-winged, showed themselves to be very naive to let male-politicians use them. In the most hellish case they were used to serve the masculine politics which lied again on June 28 (it wasn’t reached the promised 30% of women in the Parliament). None indeed thought about mentioning this in these days. If they let themselves to be used in politics, in disadvantage of ladies outside politics, then, our politician ladies have committed more than a sin, if not a crime (at least morally) that cannot be hidden behind immunity.
Not long ago the politician ladies were caring about breast-cancer, diagnostics and other stuff like this. But who can care about saving ladies outside politics from brain-cancer caused by stress and psychological pressure, who might rightly ask: “Who will be the next victim in the Albanian political battlefield?!” With all the respect for the politician ladies, they’ve done so bad. They’re becoming every day more the images of those whom they criticized for decades: male-politicians. A disappointment, e real disappointment!

Suitable time for crimes

0164 deputies of the opposition do not attend parliamentary sessions. This way of protesting for the stolen votes has stopped all the reformation, increasing crime on the other side. Murders, wounds, kidnapping, violence and rape happen on daily basis. The last night, right after dawn, there was an ambush against Desantila Dibra, from “Vojo Kushi” quarter in Shkodër. According to our sources, three people with a car stopped by her trying to put her in forcedly. Since the elections of June 28, she was always accompanied as she feared for her life. That night, his father, Hamdi Dibra, was awaiting her on that street. When he saw the scene, he ran as fast as he could to rescue his daughter. There was a fight where Hamdi Dibra endured fists and kicks what caused him to go to the hospital, while his daughter was almost blinded, as she had already lost her right eye after an explosion eight years ago. This girl is a victim of this crazy time. Since June 28 even her parents were menaced many times. On Jully 3rd 2009, at about 21.30, she suffered violence because of the parliamentary elections. She had to leave even her studies, as she studied Italianistics in the Foreign Languages Department. She, therefore, is an innocent victim of the vote. This all begun the evening of June 28, in one of the elections’ centers of one of the biggest villages of Shkodër. She was beaten as she represented the Socialist Party, because she didn’t agree to manipulate votes, as she was asked to replace invalid votes with others in favor of the Democratic Party. She was also offered an amount of Euros. She didn’t do that as she wanted everything to be true. She didn’t act like other commissioners. Right in Shkodër, the leader of the Demochristian Party, Nard Ndoka, after registered proves presented to the media and the Prosecution, reporting four commissioners. Desantila Dibra asked the interruption of counting until everything was made clear. That request wasn’t considered, reported she, as she was proposed other favors. She refused again and left the counting center without signing the papers and other documents. As soon as she left, two young people stopped beat her, while one of them was holding her from the back, telling her to prepare her funeral dress as she wouldn’t live for long in Albania. The violence during the elections of June 28, is within the ballot boxes, those boxes that left outside the Parliament half of the deputies, while the Prime Minister said they’ll never open.

Political adversaries still being eliminated in Albania

02For almost twenty years Albania isn’t being able to realize political elections that might be accepted by all part-takers. The main concern for the international institutions is still the “foundation” of every occidental democracy, elections with standards. This twenty years battle has its heroes too, those who try with all means to guarantee at least once a normal elections process. This is what Luan Dani suffered, who had to pay a big personal and family price.
It was the year 2005 when Luan, following the traces of his family, known through the years as supporter of nationalism, joined the movement started by Leka Zogu for a new spirit of union in the Albanian politics, the Movement for National Development (LZHK). Risking his life, Luan Dani was able to make sure, during the elections of 2005, that in the area he covered none might manipulate the votes. Targeted by criminal groups, with political support, Luan Dani rumored that he went abroad to escape revenge, warned by many threats for his life. Luan, indeed was hiding for many months by friends of him and his family.
Thinking that the situation was getting more quiet and that the political forces are somehow more emancipated or reformed, Luan Dani begun again, very carefully, to work for the ideals of his party continuing the family tradition. During the elections of June 28, 2009 he worked very much with democratic inspiration and perseverance, to stop as always any manipulation with the votes of the citizens. The position of the criminal-political groups became more harsh against him as he was in their target, receiving again death-threats. He could escape the ambushes of the criminals dressed with power. We are near to receive  the status of a candidate country to the European Union, while problems with elections are still problematic, as well as the victims defending the votes of the Albanians. Should we permit again that Luan Dani becomes victim of criminal forces? Are these forces who executed Aleks Keka before the elections of June 28, 2009, a political exponent of the “Freedom Pole”, the coalition of LZHK whose part was Luan Dani. Is it normal and should we permit that Luan Dani hides in his country, also called “free and democratic”? It is time for us all to shout aloud in favor of those honest people, who want the free elections, who fight for true democracy for this is what a patriotic Albanian has always done.
