Mafia and totalitarism, a
reality
It is a really frightening time for many people who aspire for a
democratic state. The pressure of groups linked to crime is almost a law, for
everyday innocent people die and the decision of the Government do open the
’97 files, when dumps were open and everyone got a gun, faced a strong
resistance even from deputies of the Albanian Parliament. The reality thus is
very frightening. The underage you see in the
picture is a victim of anarchist groups with political background, according
to our investigations, who plan to eliminate him. His name is Marçel Tom Gjergji, from Beltojë, eight kilometers from the northern town of Shkodra. He is only 17 years old and his youth is
threatened by the bullet, for the only “guilt” that his father, Tom Mark Gjergji, is known as a devoted Catholic, active in his
contribution to open the churches in the beginning of 1990, when religion was
still forbidden by law. This young guy today left the land of his predecessors,
for many of his friends of the same age were killed, as the most preferred
revenge in Albania is to kill one’s son. His father seems to have much to pay
as he was also known as an activist of the democratic movements to pull down
the communist power, which had condemned politically his grandfather, brother
and uncle. It was the 20th of may 2005
when the young Marçel Gjergji
was stopped by two unknown people, and although a child was menaced to death,
as his father was living shut-in. One of the requests of the gangs was to
stop his father from doing political and religious activities. But, one of
his uncles hides the boy until it was found some way to send him abroad in an
occidental country, to save his life. Secret political plans are strongly
hold by the organized crime, so the family of Tom Gjergji
went through serious danger on the 15th of January 2007.
Unidentified people shoot on his house. We came to know that three days ago
there was an attempt, while Tom Gjergji moved
toward Tirana, though none was supposed to know this. When he was on his way
back, in the late night at 23 o’clock, the car he was in, a Volkswagen of Vlora was shot. The driver speeded up and they were
miraculously safe. Yet, this man was fortunate that his son was not here.

The crime will realize its
plane, no matter what it takes
The history of the businessman Kadri
Myrtaj from Lushnja, is known to our readers of “Shqipëria
Etnike” all over the world, through its echo in
Albania and abroad. The gentle businessman was menaced before from the
organized crime with a clear political background, especially after the
elections of July 3, 2005, when the Democratic Party came on power. But let’s
return to the case, for everything is very distressful and tragic. This is a
history that knows no conclusion. The situation is worsening while all power
is concentrated in the hands of the DP and its people in every cell of the
Albania society. After the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Parliament,
even the institution of the President is led by Bamir
Topi, a former important leader of the DP. With his
coming on power, the justice will wear blue too, while the expulsion of the
General Prosecutor Sollaku is a question of time.
All of this inspires the organized criminal elements who use the political
class leading the country, as their shield. They’re acting openly now,
considering natural the realization of their criminal plans and Kadri Myrtaj, the businessman
from Lushnja, is the clear evidence.
Since after July 3, 2005, there was continuous pressure on him. His
only “mistake” was that he didn’t allow the manipulation of the elections in
his electoral area, as commissioner of the Socialist Party. He
didn’t even hesitate to testify and report monstrous manipulations made by
the Democratic Party. For the criminal groups the only blind revenge is
physical elimination, not only that of Kadri but
that of the entire family Myrtaj. Three days ago,
on August 22, at 01.30 am, his house was shaken by a powerful explosion,
about 100 gr. of explosive. Fortunately that horrible night the family Myrtaj wasn’t home. The building was damaged very much.
The criminals’ goal was clear, the physical elimination of Kadri Myrtaj and his family.
After continuous death threats and the explosive to his house, Kadri Myrtaj had to live
somewhere hidden, while the criminal press on his old mother. They insist to
have his address, menacing to work havoc on her and her nephews.
In Lushnja, the anarchist groups, with
political and economical support, are powerful.
There are no few cases of physical elimination of many people. The State, if
not implied directly, with its structures to eliminate its political
adversaries and those who defend the free vote, no matter the political
color, makes the “uninformed”, giving a hand to dramatic situations like that
of Kadri Myrtaj.
