Ponderous
arguments No matter how shapeless a man can be, there must remain some value,
somewhere in his being. Most of the Albanian intelligence agents have been
immoral, liars, manipulators, cowards, reptiles, selfish: in a few words they
were inhuman deep in their own body cells. Part of the SHIK or SHISH had the
previous tradition of the former Intelligence agents during communism, or
most of them was the same former contingent, with the only difference of the
name. The rumor of opening the files is like a rusty train that makes noise
on the railroad with metallic purposes, not as a living human duty. Our former “masters” menace, wave papers for the bloody darkness they
created. They, as creators of a national evil, want to blame their victims
again. These mad dogs, strive again with an animal hunger, to get human
trophies in the nebulosity. Those who’s houses were burned, those who were imprisoned, those
deported and shot, those persecuted, demand justice. But, is it time for this long unconsidered justice to say its word
and, in some other way, perhaps more effective, to disintegrate this cruelty
of harpies? It was with great pain that I red an
article, where the former commander of SHIK was telling a huge lie, in a
journal. He was explaining that, once upon a time, about 500 Kosovar troops
were trained in Shkodër, to enter in Tirana, and
how two Kosovars were arrested for the protest of September 14. He didn’t
stop there but, opposing himself, said that some way, through Perikli Teta, they had warned Azem Hajdari about the attempted attack that would occur. In the same article, he adds that if they new
about the attempted attack against Azem Hajdari, they would had prevented it. He explains how
they had spied the DP, etc. This needs no words of course. After this writing, I was reminded of
the intelligent liar, Dr. Gebels, who propagated a
great lie of a despot like Hitler… In dictatorship there are no little or big dictators, there’s only one
word: dictator! In lies, there are no little or big liars, there’s only one word:
liar! I was present since the beginning of the first anticommunist movements
in Albania, in the first movements in Shkodër, as
organizer and participant in protests, but also in the opening of churches
and mosques. I was among students in Tirana in 1990-1991, and I also was
present during all the shameful time of 1997, when the new communists burned
and destroyed Albania for the broken chair of communism. I was in Shkodër when the Prefect Podgorica
resigned, when the Prefect Laçej, a good
intellectual, accused the government as the cause of violence in Shkodër and, later was thrown away by communists. I was
on September 13- As participant and organizer of these particular events in Albania, my
knowledge is not intrigued as that of SHISH, but as an eyewitness,
and in this position I’ve tried to manage the uncontrolled situations of
anger of my friends, and now it hurts me seeing them unemployed, mistreated
by those people whom they helped to get the power. They often ask me: “Could
we have been betrayed?” But I still don’t believe in betrayal, right because
I believe in good people, who are not good politicians, but they will become
by looking back to where they came from and their obligation to serve people,
as well as to find the most possible ways to make Albania prosper. If I
didn’t believe I’d become a mouthful hard to swallow by the “traitors” of
democracy. Neither them, nor their families would ever find rest until they
paid for all their betrayal. Latins say: “Cum
principia negate non est disputant”, which means:
“There’s no negotiation with him who denies principles”. We, as anticommunists, have remained silent until now, thinking that
the question of Kosovo is more important than our problems. If we stopped our
activity, it doesn’t mean that we’ve stopped being. I also believe that the
Government Berisha will have its speech, though
it’s not clear to me, from a certain point of view, what is going on with
this government. Before they came on power, the yesterday opposition, today
in charge, swore to destroy klepto-cracy of the red
clan in Albania, which has a large and complicated circle. But we notice that
none of those snakes, ready to take power again tomorrow, is arrested. We
only notice fight within the today’s power, where the victims are some little
militants of the right wing. At the same time, the red klepto-crats, not
only were not even touched, but they laugh to what is happening within the
democratic camp… Millions of dollars from the banks, stolen during 1997, have turned
into billions today. The millions stolen during the government of the red
clan have turned into ice-creams for some today’s governors, who taste it,
while they say a big “YES” to the today’s tenders. Some “little fishes” were arrested for the murders of SHIK agents in
Valona and Cerrik, but noe
of those who ordered 1997… Doesn’t it look ironic to all those nationalist
democrats who sacrificed their lives and families working hard for the
Albanian democracy, without obtaining anything?! We see that right these nationalist democrats have been named by
discredited members of SHIK or SHISH. Yet, I still believe in the reforms
started by the Government led by Mr. Berisha, which
will purge even this institution, likewise other institutions, making a
revolution in the information psychology, to be responsible, not like some times ago when the agent, after a bottle of whiskey
used to fall in “delirium tremens” what caused him to see black, blue and
brown enemies… To the shame of the agents of SHIK-SHISH, false files are filled with
“foreign spies” and “Kosovar mercenaries”, “Crusades”, “Islamic Revolution
led by Catholics”, etc., etc. Such shameful files can be compiled only by nasty people in whose
blood flows communist cannibal thirst. In those
files is also my name and that of my Albanian anticommunist and nationalist
friends. For the events of September 14, two honest Kosovars were arrested,
though they had nothing to do with any of the parts, as supposed by the chief
of SHISH. They lived near democrat families and experienced the same pain as
the Albanian democrats, for that big drama Albania was suffering. They called
the Nano Government as shameful and illegitimate. The murder of Azem made them even more upset, that’s why the revolt in
their hearts became one with ours. September 14 had nothing to do with the shameful intimations of Fatos Klosi, but it had a
double purpose, the last homage to Azem and the
fall of the government of those Fatos of communism,
who were the leaders of this horrible act. I want to make clear something I didn’t write before: if the democrat
leadership would have had the desire to rebuild the democrat power, after the
fall of Nano, it would had been easier for us. The communists took advantage right because those anticommunists who
came to give their lives for freedom, left, after it was confirmed that the
power we got was to be led by the democrat lidership. Many arrests occurring later, were casual.
Those who did September 14 were never arrested… Some names were mentioned, or
there was any attempt for any person, but the communists didn’t have the
chance to please their animal thirst… Later on, SHISH didn’t hesitate to fill the pages of files about the
Armed Rebellion, which was being organized in North, in Shkodër.
There were mentioned some names, not unknown, like Mark Krroqi,
Hivzi Bushati etc. I want
to assure the many compilers of this shameful file, (later sent to the
Albanian Parliament, as a breakthrough), that they are dishonest and liars. Most of those names have nothing in common with what is spoken or
written about them. They’re simple people, but they’re not in the
anticommunist iceberg, which has often come out not as a communist
institution that sows blood, but as a responsible institution for the destiny
of democracy in Albania. The anticommunists have never avenged against those who sacrificed them.
In the most dramatic moments the hand of the anticommunists stopped, while it
was just upon the head of the blood-thirsty communist, considering it didn’t
honor them if they took revenge. On the other hand, the communist criminal
not only did never stop, but went on with persecution for generations. Many
anticommunists and democrats left Albania, not because of fear, but to
prevent from becoming like the communist criminals, to reject revenge. Part of the Albanian press is doing a very good job in publishing the
files of the Polit-Bureau, their deeds, and showing
what cruel, intolerant, ignorant, toady, thieves and criminals ruled the
Albanian people. Yet, there is any newspaper that indirectly defends the red cast by
publishing the drivel of some rubbish of the clan of the red block, telling
stories with dragons. Don’t Fatos, Ramiz, Nexhmije and their same
feel like reminding us what a fatal mistake our clemency was? Don’t they feel
like touching our old wounds with their nasty writings and speeches.
I’m telling you, it’s not late for them to swallow themselves infected with
blood and horror at any corner waiting the last judgment from God. 54 years
of sufferings, torture, imprisonment, deportation and shooting will be paid
someday by them and their children, who want to become masters of the new
Albania. Syrus says: “Sero
in periculis est consilium queerer”, which means: “When danger comes, it
is too late to ask for advice”. Alfons Grishaj, Michigan, USA Blood-feud,
the medieval ghost in our life Living with the fear of death, every moment, in every place while the
only way out is living shut in within a room, without windows, a little
breath. This is on of the definitions given to blood-feud,
a medieval phenomenon, still living amongst us, sowing death and anxiety for
those who escape it. The problem of blood-feud is a sharp problem for all
Albania, but this wound of society is felt more in the north of our country.
Thousands of families of north have lost their relatives, thousands of
children miss school, living shut in or in a “life of prison” within their
houses, with the terrible fear that one day the avenger will take their
lives. Their lives are never safe and tomorrow is
trustless. This is the phrase at the end of the day for people who
unfortunately are in enmity. Blood demands blood, this is the mentality of
the northern area. Besides this problem there’s another one,
that of revenge, as the avenger revenges on the family of the one who
committed the crime. Thus, even though it is someone else, who has no guilt
for the committed crime, if he doesn’t close in, death is sure. There is
thousands of evidence and histories about people closed in, while there are
also families without a male member, because of blood-feud. The Albanian
State has never considered seriously and definitely the problem of
blood-feud, but it has also officially accepted its existence with some legal
acts that provide harder condemnation for those who commit crimes in the name
of blood-feud. In these conditions there are no precise statistics on
blood-feud, but a number of reconciliation associations, working mainly in
North Albania, give dramatic numbers. Over 700 families live shut in. Only in
area of Tropojë there are more than 290 families
reported as hiding because of blood-feud. The situation is more serious as
far as children is concerned. They’re forced to
leave school and are in continuous danger to be killed, or even under hard
pressure to take revenge. About 700 children in North Albania have this same
problem. International organizations working in the land of eagles, are aware of this problem and have tried to help
in smoothing the phenomenon of blood-feud. UNICEF has helped in three
districts of North Albania to make sure the children affected by blood-feud
can have education. Blood-feud forces male children to stay closed at home.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Education there have been composed
particular programs to get education at home. Over 200 children have been
reintegrated at school and dozens of them have got education at home, by
“ambulant” teachers. On the other hand, a huge number of children migrate
from their homes to continue their education in some area more protected by
the State, like Poliçan, in South Albania. They are
protected by the police, yet they miss their parents. There are many families
in these conditions who have to live shut in, but the consequence is that
they miss the main means for living, sinking in absolute poverty, while males
from 7 years and above cannot see the sunlight. Day after day, the number of
the families in blood-feud increases, and they’re abandoning their country,
looking for a more difficult life, yet far from the avenger who waits with
the gun ready to shoot. One of the victims of this phenomenon is the family Koci. The latest case this family was hit was on
September 12, 2007, when people unknown to the police wound Mr. Bashkim Koci (E. Kaci), in midday, near the place called “Kafja e Madhe”. It is a
medieval phenomenon, originated from the “Canon of Lek
Dukagjini”, more than 550 years ago, deeply
enrooted in the Albanian reality of modern times: a ghost that is destroying
our lives! This is the blood-feud to the Albanians of the 21st
century. Veronike Pepushaj |
