"Albanian" Wikileaks – media rumor or "Big Brother"?!

It had to come Albania's moment. The stolen or donated messages of Wikileaks would naturally involve Albania, the international name given to the "country of eagles". It was the media who echoed the messages, whose authenticity and truthfulness was not denied by the US Department, the truth about what was reported by the American embassies all over the world.
The other countries of the world involved in these unprecedented publications have chosen to ignore them; avoiding comments on the facts, otherwise indirect and superficial comments have been made. What did Wikileaks say that wasn't heard by the Albanians, even as rumor, in media or bar environments?!
It's not our intention to analyze numerous real facts, but we can surely affirm that we all knew the kind of deputies (though not all of them) representing us in the Parliament. They've been accusing each other for many years about all kinds of crimes, even murders, drugs smuggling and trafficking people, kidnapping children etc. The names mentioned in the American Embassy reports have been published in the newspapers, news or bars.
The untouchable people belonging in important positions of the State are another issue going through the "Albanian tables". Their professional career and relationship with powerful political people raised perceptions, not only by intuition, which made their way to the cablegram.
Besides the "state of bodyguards" and the "state of interceding drivers", in Albania has always flourished, and it will always go on like this, the state of relatives, sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters. This disclosure of Wikileaks cannot be something new to Albanians, already used during these last 20 years to the plenty information, coming from all sides, and often true, as a result of willing disclosures against rivals of the same kind. Since the beginning, sons of presidents, premiers, secretaries and all the pyramid of the State were those who solved problems, obviously when they were adults. Otherwise the way to solve the problems was through other relatives of further generations.
The abuse with public funds, the kind of hundreds of thousands to hundreds of millions of dollars wasn't difficult for Wikileaks find out. Specialized institutions like HCS, Prosecution and ISS do often prepare reports that can easily be known to the offices of the American Embassy.
"The fight within the same kind is the hardest", Darwin said. This statement was materialized among people, and it's not surprising it ended in cablegrams. The existence of political clans within the big Albanian parties was never an unrevealing secret to Albanians. Organized groups have always been present within the DP, the SP and other parties too, with the aim to keep certain individuals in the leadership. The thirst for executive or even legislative power, in order to have control on other institutions or offices of the pyramid of the Sate, has been always part of the political groups since 1990. Wikileaks was revealing what was already clear to Albanians: the fight to own tribunals, ISS, prosecution etc., is continuous.
A dependent Albania and powerless toward its neighbors is another known issue through the tables of Albania's bars; particularly this was the line followed for decades by the Albanian governments toward Greece. Albanians had to read this in cablegrams to believe.
The most ridiculous theme unveiled was that of elections' manipulation and the use of public and administration funds for electoral purposes etc. Is there any Albanian now not yet convinced that elections are manipulated with any means by the various governments?! Yet, this is more credible to us when revealed by Wikileaks, though we already know the ways elections are manipulated, even in Shkodra's district, for many years now.
The news brought out by Wikileaks is the official revelation of concrete names, which we knew too; I mean those interested in that kind of information, but also those who were just careful listeners at the tables of bars and media. We should admit that Berisha's statements that cablegrams are like newspapers or informative broadcasts have a certain ground of truth. This consideration, however, includes many questionable issues.
Could it be possible that the American Embassy sends the State Department information read in the newspapers? Could it be possible that the most powerful country of the world has built its diplomatic information web by reading the newspapers and following the news?! Could it be that the American Embassy uses media as the main source influencing directly the State Department policy toward our country, while Albanians do not even trust them?! Could it be that the newspaper information is sent to the US without verifying them through other reliable sources?! Is it possible that the American Embassy has already its information sources within all the important Albanian institutions, a kind of US intelligent service within our country?! By these questions, also to be considered as answers too, Wikileaks has revealed another very important fact. Important people, even politicians or institutions, have reported to the American Embassy in Albania, making almost absolutely true the facts published by the cablegrams.
It was already known that we never had secrets for "the big countries". The new thing is that besides our willing reports, there are other sources checking the information. As it is a very famous concept in our country, Albania, Albanians and those under the jurisdiction of the American Embassy in Tirana, are parts of a new show like "Big Brother". The "Big Brother" knows everything, sees everything but doesn't make decisions; it is the State Department the one deciding after the reports coming from the "Big Brother Albania" "House", constantly monitored. The best probable determination is a "State within the state", this is what USA has been building in Albania, as well as in other countries. "Help Wikileaks to keep governments open" is the slogan of Wikileaks. It sounds wired but it is very similar to the theory USA exports over the world. They're just 4% of the world population and about 1/5 of the world production, but it is probably true only for the economy.

Victim of law 7501

Albania still continues to be victim of the laws of the early years '90, when the lack of experience of the political classes created un executable standards in the post communist Albanian reality . One of these laws is the one related to the land, which is identified with its nr.7501. This law predicts the division of the terrain according to the persons, and not respecting the lawful owners and at the same time naming as terrain owner individual that have never been such.
Ardian Muhamet Mokçi born on 19 June 1968 is one o f the victims of this law, which now began to produce conflicts that are classified with blood feud. Ardian lives in Shkoder, but he own properties in the commune Postribe of the Shkoder District. Together with his relatives, he was happy with the coming of democracy in Albania as now after many years would enjoy the privileges of the inherited property after generations. But this was not destiny, as the E.U want the privation from this legitimate right, as assignee of the land in base of the law 7501.
He does not want to create conflicts, Ardian and his relatives, gave time to the Ulaj family to be convinced and to turn back the property to the legitimate owners. The situation was such a year before, while for the case of this property on the land, Sokol Guri, the son of Ardian Mokçi uncle, wounded with fire gun a member of the Ulaj family. Sokol was arrested from the police and was condemned from the Albanian tribunal where actually is suffering his conviction. Now to the property conflict was ad even the blood feud. The Ulaj wants to revenge for the wound of one of his family member, in base of the Canon of Lek Dukagjini according to which the blood get revenged only with blood. Among the risked of this blind revenge is even Ardian Mokçi, who is immobilize together with his family . if he will get out or his address will be revealed, his life is threatened from the blood feud in name of the blood feud, as first cousin with Sokol Guri. The immobilisation of Ardian and the life of his family, the life in total illegality, brought up severe consequences even for their survival, as the men has no possibility to get employed.
This story is another chapter of malfunction of the legal state in Albania, when even the laws approved with hurry from the Parliament, create properties conflicts, stimulate the blood feud and ruin the life of hundred Albanian families.

The tragic destiny of the new spouses

Life in general hides non imaginable mysteries of individuals who choose to unite their lives through marriage. Daily life difficulties go along with tragic destinies, since the very first steps of a newly created family of two young people.
His name is Aleksander Simon Kroni, born on October 10, 1984. He was born in the village of Berdice. The difficult conditions of an endless transition accompanied him through all his childhood and the only way for Aleksander and his family, as well as for many other families, was emigration. Italy was the place where Aleksander tried to start his life hoping to realize his youth dreams. He dreamed of a modern Albania and the state of law. Convinced in these ideals, Aleksander decided to contribute for his birth-country. He followed the steps of his father, Simon Kroni, who was involved since the beginning in the pluralist politics, as he was head of the Social-Democratic Party for the municipality of Berdice since 1994. As a distinguished activist with a good reputation in that area he ran for mayor of the municipality in 1996. Simon was a regular member of the elections' commissions for the municipality of Berdice as a reliable exponent of the Albanian Opposition for years.
His son, Aleksander grew up with these political convictions. He chose to follow the Albanian opposition, which he served. The pure heart of the young man was dreaming of an occidental Albania, with honest elections of good international standards. At the age of almost 21 years old, Aleksandre joined the opposition staff during the elections of 2005, giving his important contribution to the victory of the socialist candidate Tom Doshi, the only winner along with the other candidate Paulin Sterkaj, in Shkodra's district. Nevertheless the victory involved Aleksander Kroni's contribution; the Democratic Party won the elections of 2005. Menaces against opposition began right away, especially toward individuals like Aleksander Kroni, as staff member of the socialist deputy Tom Doshi. Aleksander wasn't scared, as he believed the democratic values would win one day. With these opinions, during the local elections of 2007, the young man was a staff-member of Xhevdet Ethemi, the socialist candidate for the municipality of Berdice, who lost the elections as a result of the numerous manipulations of the DP on power. 2009 was a new milestone for Aleksander, as he married Rolanda Kroni (Zefi), born on March 13, 1991. Though facing menaces, he never gave up his hope for a normal life, dreaming of a family blessed with children.
Disappointed, yet not surrendered toward numerous pressures and menaces even with anonymous letters, Aleksander Kroni was still very active during the elections of 2009 in Shkodra District. In the ballot he was present; he didn't allow the DP commissionaries manipulate the process, reporting everything to the leaders of the SP, as well as the District's Central Elections' Committee. As a result of his Aleksander's work, the Socialist Party got 4 parliamentaries in those elections, which was a great political success.
As a devoted activist of the Opposition, Aleksander Kroni became a target of revenge for the party on power. Pressure and menaces against him raised, reaching out his family and relatives too. Nevertheless, he was convinced that is was time to answer the State's crime that menaced him for 6 years now, with the vote in the Municipality of Berdice. Since the first days Besnik Xhemali was appointed as the candidate of the Socialist Party running for mayor of the municipality, Aleksander Kroni offered his contribution, which was welcome. He was a close staff-member of the socialist candidate, who won on May 8, 2011, becoming mayor of the Municipality of Berdice. After 20 years, that municipality changed color, going to the left wing represented by Besnik Xhemali. Aleksander's joy was great, for the vote was punishing the state-party. The joy didn't last for a long time. It was 22.30 of August 28, 2011, when Aleksander was driving home from Velipoje. At the place called "Pusi i Fatimes", a police block stopped him. He could distinguish two people in uniform, but their hats covered their faces. After inviting him to turn off the lights of the car, they asked him to get out and put his hands on the car. As he was showing his back to the police officers, they hit him and he fell down, while they kept on hitting him wild. As he was losing conscience he heard phrases like: "let's kill the red dog", "give up politics if you want to live", "let's make him and his family disappear". After about 30 minutes, Aleksander was conscious and noticed the police officers had left. He could hardly get in the car and drive back home. Afterward he knew the two individuals were not police officers at all, but they'd been hiding under the uniform in order to be able to do what they did. They left Aleksander unconscious, thinking he was dead.
The tragic destiny of this young couple has created a family drama. The husband Aleksander Kroni was menaced and hit with barbarity by criminal elements hiding under the police uniform, just because of his political opinions and democratic ideals. His wife, Rolanda Kroni lives under the pressure of having his husband killed and open menaces against her new family. After the happenings of August 28, 2011, when destiny was for Aleksander to escape death leaving her as a widow since the very first years of her marriage, the shock was very deep. They interrupted vacancies and left the country, without any address, trying to save their lives and the future children they wanted to have; yet if they won't ever be innocent victims of the political crime or blood-feud. Event when it looks like it was forgotten for a moment, day, week, maybe even month, eclipsed somehow from various crimes that are blooding nearly every day the Albanian family, by fulfilling the black chronics of the local pres, the blood feud turns back time after time, o tell that anyway the life is will be the most important of the family life in the Albanian families in the North Zone.
'Dignitose' in the way it is presented and how it acts, this old form, reanimated freshly, really for more than 20 years, in the opinion of the traditionalists of this area, is not feed up, neither with the silence and the mister surrounded in the most of time, but it seems that it is not fed up, neither with the challenges does not the law and the fright which do exist in the people. Not far than some days before and, exactly in the first hours of the morning of the 23 august 2011 , when really it was nor quite dark, in the village Bardhaj in he Shkoder District, was attacked the family of Xhelal Hyseni, resident of this village.
There were no victims in the people. Not ore as result that the law, or its mechanisms defended Xhelal and his small family from the attack of the aggressors, but is was because, many times before, Xhelali and his family live closed, "isolated", as we are used to say ordinary, as reason of a blood feud story , with another family, resident of the village Bardhaj.
In reality, more than a classical blood feud story, it is a real drama, dignified to be told in the ancient epic legends of this area, but unfortunately it is real and dispatched, exactly in the second decade of the 21 century.
A relation which turn out in a homicide between the friends, while a drink which turns up in a river of blood, a madness of revenge of the father of the one of the victims of this story, which turns up in a practice which puts in function the old canon condemnation predicted in the cases of "faith violation "
It seems that all these have gone down will all their killing load over the Hyseni family, which today suffers not only the isolation, for more than a year and a half, not only the lost of their older son Gojard, out of the burdens "of full unsafely" in which live all the other family members , but even the collective condemnation, the indifferent silence of the peasants, for whom Xhelal, according to the canon , is the other male part of his family , are guilty for the grave canon violation , the one of the "given faith".
Everything started when without remembering the murder of his son, the brother of Xhelal, Met Hyseni, shoot the person who had kill his son, Arben. Indeed, the family Hyseni had gave the faith in front of the reeve of the village that he would not revenge for the murder son, considering the blood forgiven. At least temporarily. And Xhelal was warrantor for this. In which conditions and with what kind of ideas in his disordered head from the misfortune occurred in his family (except the murdered son, he lost even his two young nieces , who did not live anymore in the house of their father, now dead, killed from their uncle) made this, this could not be explained, but it can be presumed, but the true is that Meti killed, and violated the faith.
The law does not react, the police, as usual avoids these events, being afraid that her people may be conflicted in this blood feud story with all their families. Then the old mechanism, young more than never, mostly in this village, the most effected from the phenomena of the blood feud, took in hand the power and act. Frequently happened this manner, but, the case of the family Hyseni is special, and no one wants to react against this to defend the grave punishment given for the "faith violation".
Even the Peace Missionaries tried various times, as they did even in other cases, but now, for then this is a case with no hope.
In this way the drama of this family takes legendary dimensions, a sin the time of the passed centuries, when the Canon was the only honour and law in this area.
The event of the 23 august 2011 certified this. All know who shoot their house, and know even why, simply to offend and to say to them that the condemnation given to them can not be forgiven, although nobody speaks and gave concrete names. Even the police who came at the place of the event, went back and never returned. Because it is not easy to be engaged with a whole village.
And the worst it is not hate or anger, because nobody has any feelings for Hysenaj, and specially for Xhelal. If it could be so it could be less distressful, because the anger ends a day. on the contrary the condemnation with cold blood and with humility sublime towards the canon, makes the drama an avoidable and the condemnation in every time, howsoever long it may be.
This is the drama of the family of Xhelal Hyseni which lives an exemplary condemnation that has just started for it.

They put penalty to him and threaten him with his life

The gave wounds of the Albanian society, blood feud, every day is taking the lives of innocent people. Only during the eight months of this year have been registered 117 murders. Even in Shkoder, do exist a whole quarter with people immobilised from the conflicts. Near by Kiras there are hundred of such families, where even the children are not able to go to school as their friends. There have been many governmental ministers, and again the revenge bulled is ready to shoot this people, if they came out from the immobilisation place, where someone has locked them in for banal motives. The blood feud are various, on one part the banal conflicts related to properties and the penalties related to business from various groups is the main problem which is shocking the safety of our days.
The object of this writing is an ex successful businessman in the northern city of Shkoder. Fatjon Domni had a business engaged with the fish trade. He past the taxes regularly and was registered in the office of social insurance. In Shkoder is known the fact the various groups have divided the zones of influence, where they put penalties to the businesses. Even Fatjon Domni had no way to escape from these penalties and the group which did control the place called Zdrale and paid the times the penalties which consist on 1000 euro each.
But in June of the year 2009 came a penalty of 30 000 euro. That was the amount asked by the mafia group. He could not found that amount of money. Immediately began the strong threatening taht he must gave that amount of money or they would burn his shop. After some months and days, and came the black day, when his shop was blast with trytol. So the October 2009 was the time when the exposure destroyed all the object. He was obligated to close his business, but the threatening became more. Under the door of his house he found a letter where was written that they would kill him. Since then and still today Fatjon Domni is immobilised we nothing is known about his fate. In between the life and the death, as many victims of the revenge without logic.

The blood feud kills even the baby on the mother's belly

The blood feud phenomena, an social wound which started many centuries before in our country in general and specially in the North of Albania, continues to be opened, and as a consequence we have many cases where whole families were obligated to be closed in the isolation tower, to defend themselves from the bullet of the avenger. A such example very concrete which demonstrates openly the burden of its phenomena is even the citizen Arben Muhamet Gushkeqi, born on 26 January 1971, born and resident in the quarter Perash of Shkoder city. It was the date of 28 august, a black day, when Arben with his family, the wife Dhurata, were obligated to say no to the freedom, no to the sun beams, no to the normal life, and to isolate themselves in the periphery quarter of the city, to defend themselves from the avenger. In fact ten years before took place a conflict between the son of the uncle of Arben Muhamet Gushkeqi, who is named G.XH.G. with the citizen F.K., who was killed for weak motives, for thus reason the murder is suffering the condemnation given by the Albanian justice. While the murder is suffering the condemnation in the Albanian prisons from date 28 august of the year 2000, the Gushkeqi family would live in the anxiety that a day would revenge in them, but the most terrible thing in these modern times, the children of the couple Gushkeqi are innocent victims who are hostages in name of the canon, with no education, growing up with the anxiety of the shooting of the killing gun on their young body, that is why they are obligated to emigrate, to go away from the darkness of the isolation tower o to avoid the risk for the life. So the family Arben Muhamet Gushkeqi, Dhurata Gushkeqi and their children Arisa and Anis Gushkeqi, were obligated to say goodbye to Albania, to their lovely Shkoder, but most of all, to take with them the street of the world and a bitter memory, the lost of a family member who was growing up in the belly of the mother Dhurata. An antihuman tragedy which occurs only in Albania, in this country where for 20 years have been executed 10 000 people only for blood feud. This cruel death of the baby in the mothers belly, was a consequence of an psychological and shocking phenomena of the isolation life, so to get free from the blood feud phenomena, goodbye birthplace. This is the only way of this family, and many others, which even why many of the associations and the missionaries of blood feud reconciliation have performed the right and possible steps to reconcile these families between them, again the force of the Canon influenced, and the Gushkeqi family is looking for the freedom missed since ten years somewhere in the free Europe, without the emotional burden of the blood feud phenomena.

Revenge in the name of the 600 old Kanun

The Albanian tragedy named blood-feud continues in Albania. This pestilence among Albanians, is spreading with an epidemic speed, menacing and taking away innocent lives. None is able to stop the killing hand, neither the reconciliation associations, though they try very hard, but without any support by the state structures.
Sokol Lulati, born on May 26, 1971, is the last victim of the ugly revenge in the name of blood-feud.
It was 2006 when the terrible closed-in life begun for Sokol and his family, in the name of Kanun. A property conflict made Paulin Lulati, Sokol's brother, to wound Xhenerin Kapcari. As it is written in the ill-famed Kanun, where blood-feud is founded, the family Kapcari had the right to kill a member of the family Lulati. Found in serious menaces for his life, Sokol Lulati had to close-in, deprived of his freedom to move out, suffering starvation with his family. The prey of this menace was his wife Mirela and their kids, two girls, one almost 3 years old and the other of just 3 months.
Sokol was very limited in his movements. He went out of his house very rarely, trying to move during the night, going on streets he thought his enemies wouldn't follow him. Yet, he was a target of blood-feud.
The day of August 20, 2011, could be fatal to Sokol Lulati, while going on his bike through the area called "Rus Katolik" in Shkoder; numerous bullets were shooting on him. Though about 22.00, the avenger was able to identify him. For God's sake and thanks to the darkness, Sokol Lulati could escape the ambush avoiding the bullets.
The Albanian tragedy of Kanun goes on. Even the Albanian Peace and Reconciliation Missionaries Association couldn't close this conflict started on November 8, 2006. Since that day, Sokol Lulati and his family are closed-in, menaced to death, under the continuous danger of revenge in the name of blood-feud.
