Albania under dictatorship

In a society that aims progress, with great goals for the future, the basic principles of the state administration should normally be the security of life and the satisfying of people even when the yare missing. The Albanian state is showing a clear distance from the people, enlarging the dictatorship, the political and economical differentiation and is headed toward the moving back of the society. This girl, this democrat who loves the life and worked so much on the emancipation of society is called Manila Ismet Vorfa and was born on July 26, 1974, in the famous anticommunist town of Shkodra. She is the daughter of Ismet Vorfa, who was politically condemned from 1967 till 1970, coming from a family who had its’ properties and all the richness sequestrated, a family that was interned for two years in the village Sheq-Marinas of Fier, in south Albania. She participated in the anticommunist protest of January 14, 1990, June 16, 1990, December 13, 1990, April 2, 1991 etc. She suffered violence and ill-treatments by the anarchists, unfortunately on power in Albania. On April 2 the security of state that killed four persons and wounded other 163, had planned to kill even the democrat Manila Vorfa, who had many fractures on her body because of the beats she suffered. Her life was seriously menaced as she was a member of the Political Anticommunist Association “13 December 1990”. The day of the parliamentary elections, on June 24, 2001, she was a commissioner of the Democratic Party in the section Nr. 2 of the voting center Nr. 206. At 21:30, after the elections’ boxes were closed, two strangely wearing and masked people with a van tried to rob the elections’ boxes. The democratic commissioner resisted them. She was beaten, and for her good fortune, she wasn’t kidnapped because of the intervention of some people going by. The elections in that section were annulled, but in the next round, after many manipulations the socialist deputy Lekë Çukaj won against the democratic Mark Krroqi. The police at that time had also menaced our journalist Vasel Gilaj. The pressures on the democrat Manila Vorfa passed on her family until the day she was forced to leave Albania. This dictatorship in Albania is being even wilder than during the time of Enver Hoxha.

Intellectuals attacked

To keep the power of violence and injustice, the dictators attack first of all the brain of the society, the intellectuals. An actual case is that of the architect Artani Golemi, the son of Bujar Golemi, the ex deputy of the Albanian Democratic Party. For three years he gave his contribution as an architect in the municipality of Shkodra, the largest city of north Albania. He also was a member of the Political Anticommunist Association “13 December 1990”. As such he hit the eye of the dark forces of the security of the state, which supervised and menaced him, troubling his life in order to make him feel insecure. The life of the whole Albanian intellectuals with progression visions is threatened. In these last five years have been fired four thousands of Albanians, 204 of them were policemen and 26 politicians! The state of masks, rubber sticks, prisons and the daily political murders was able to trouble the life of the intellectual Artani Golemi, forcing him to emigrate. This way of dealing with clear arrogance with the true intellectuals, wants to hinder the integration of Albania in Europe and make possible that the power keepers hold their seats smelling of crime.

The Kosovo of conflicts

It wasn’t a tradition for the Albanians to have conflicts, but many years ago, while Anton Çeta was admired for reconciliation, the conflicts grew passing even in Albania. The problems between the religions are growing, especially after 1997, when even Bin Laden is supposed was sheltered in Albania. Kosovo has been a center of terrorism even during the war and later even in our days, the religious conflicts got worse with the spreading of a leaflet four or five months ago, published in a journal, calling for struggles between Catholics and Muslims, the situation got even worse. Many Catholics, who didn’t join the KLA against the Serbia of Milosevic, were considered traitors by the KLA, creating conflicts amongst Albanians. Many have been killed, but many Catholics have been forced to leave their country, Kosovo, to go and get shelter somewhere abroad. This is the case of the families Berisha, Kolaj, Goraj, etc. from Gjakova. After the events of September 11 of the last year, many fundamentalist groups have been organized. However, many of them have been discovered and arrested, according to reserved information we have, because of the good job of the international forces.

Do the Serbs have to beg pardon to the Albanians of Kosovo, while the women of Kosovo are still carrying the violence, used on them by the paramilitary?

The international forces hoped that making known the truth, would make the Serbs to accept their fault and start to reconcile with the other people of the ex-Yugoslavia, who suffered rape, violence, ethnical cleansing and massive murders. The war against the Kosovars was terrible. It was a great burden also for the young mothers and girls who stood in their lands growing their children. They suffered the violence from the Serb militaries. Land Prek Kaceli, born on May 20, 1976, tells to our journal that the district she lived in Peja was mostly populated by young girls and just married women. The Serb forces have used violence on us, putting us in an abandoned house, where we suffered a wild violence, she says. I left on August 29, 1998, from Peja, where I left my mother, my father and the little daughter. Since then I’m not the one I was and I was scared to explain to my husband Paulin, what we had been suffering. I cry day and night for my daughter… I have been seen by the psychologist and have explained him everything, but I cannot explain the truth to my husband who had bad “mentalities” and everything bad might suddenly happen… I want to have my children and not lose them, she says ending her story… Now crime and corruption is dominating Kosovo. It is the organized crime of the gangs united with the former communists of the secret serviced and the paramilitary groups. In these last three years, Kosovo is a center of trafficking, while the Kosovar women are still suffering the consequences of war.

An occasional conflict can destroy an entire family

The picture you see is that of the young guy named Miri Zef Blini, born on Palaj of Shosh on September 10, 1985. He was born in this village surrounded by mountains, where his predecessors defended the religion, repelling the foreign invaders. What troubles the young Miri, his father Zef and the mother Prenda, is a conflict his brother Fran had with Deda, a friend of him while playing soccer. Deda had a knife and wanted to knife Fran, but he avoided it and knifed him in return, causing him to die. In this situation, the entire family of Miri is shut in their home, waiting for the family of the victim to take revenge, as it is custom for those areas. In order to save Miri, his father paid 4000 dollars, to send him illegally in England. He went in London in March 2002, with a camion full of clandestine people. He was forced to emigrate, in order to save his life. According to the Canon of Lek Dukagjini, he might be condemned just as it was his brother, although he committed no crime. For him it is unsafe to return in Albania, for he can be killed by the family of the victim and the state is unable to protect him. Nothing was done, no matter the intervention of the missionaries of peace. An entire family doesn’t work, and no male of the family can go out, but the women.

Terror on children

His name is Marjan Gjonaj, he is still underage, yet he has suffered the dose of the antihuman violence of the red anarchy, used on democrats these last five years. The young guy you see in the picture comes from an anticommunist family. His father Gjergj Nikë Gjonaj is a member and activist of the Democratic Party since 1991, as well as a member of the anticommunist association of the political persecuted in Shkodra. Masked people have wounded his father, Gjergj Gjonaj, on June 17, 2001, and on October 27, 2001, gangs stroke him with a vehicle. Marjan’s brothers, Gasper and Prekë Gjonaj have contributed on the installation of the Albanian democracy, which made them a target for the dictators, who have killed over 4700 innocent Albanians only in these last five years. The facts are clear. The family of this young democrat has been persecuted even during the communist regime of Enver Hoxha. His father’s uncle, Rev. Dedë Maçaj was fired as a priest while he was 27 years old, after being recruited! Only from Shkodra have been fired 153 clericals by that regime, and most of them were priests. The Albanian anticommunists today are suffering the same physical and psychological terror and even the young Marjan Gjonaj has his life menaced. He was forced to leave Albania, as well as many of his friends of the same age. But we cry with a loud voice: The power keepers, who made of Albania a slaughterhouse, are those who should leave it, not the democrats, who love freedom, democracy, human rights and civilization.

The state is killing the future

Unfortunately there’s no light hope in the horizon of the Albanian politics. People are killed without motive, and the violence is being installed. This young guy, named Markoz Tinaj, has suffered the rubber sticks, kicks and violence from the policemen, just because he is a democrat. He comes from an anticommunist family who were persecuted. His parents have given a great contribution as members and activists of the Democratic Party and have been menaced to death. Especially after 1997, his life was seriously menaced. Markoz Tinaj, on the funeral of the deputy Azem Hajdari, on September 14, 1998, was beaten by the police as well as many other democrats. The anarchists signed his name to kill him, until the day he left Albania.

This innocent guy is still today in the lists to be killed. This is the state that kills its’ citizens, its’ future.

The socialists’ revenge on democrats is not over

After the tragic events of 1997 in Albania, when the communists came back on power, their revenge on the democrats has no end. Such is the case of Admir Cufaj, who is constantly threatened by the security of state. Since the foundation of the Democratic Party in Shkodra, Admir was its’ member and activist, distinguished in this party. He has been supporting Azem Hajdari for a long time. Admir Cufaj was distinguished as an anticommunist during all his activity, for the communist dictatorship has fired his grandfather. Mr. Cufaj is also member of the Anticommunist Association “13 Dhjetori 1990”. Because of all these facts and others activities that hit the eye of the socialists, which got the power violently, Admir Cufaj has been many times arrested. The police has ill-treated and menaced him. Along with him has been arrested even his wife Xhixha Darcaj, for she not only has helped him in his political activity, but she also was a journalist in the anticommunist TV broadcaster “Antena Nord”. In these conditions of incessant threats, they have been forced to leave Albania.
